Managing for Success in ICT

Purpose

Although essential, sound technical skills are rarely enough to operate effectively in IT. Technology has to be appropriately applied to meet business needs.  IT staff need a broad base of skills to enable them to introduce, manage and maintain technological solutions in modern HSC organisations.

This programme provides the opportunity for IT staff to fully explore and understand their role and to develop the necessary ‘non-technical skills’ which will enable them to utilize their technical skills in the HSC business context.

Learning Outcomes

  • Expand your understanding of the HSC ICT management environment including ICT funding mechanisms, governance and the User Perspective
  • Employ effective management tools including Myers Briggs, and Debono.
  • Understand the need for innovation and change management within an organisation, and employ tools and techniques designed to manage and lead through change
  • Improve your knowledge of the principles of effective management and leadership
