Purpose

The onus for the HSC to process formal training across the disciplines of Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Management comes from a range of different directions.

 

  • To develop skills and knowledge of the Commissioning, Procurement and Contract Services.

Learning Outcomes

  • Engender a deep understanding of the strategic drivers for Health and Care services allowing service plans to be prepared via co-production/co-design based on evidential need.
  • Enable Health and social care procurements to be delivered in line with legislation and policy.
  • Manage resultant contracts effectively ensuring service users receive the services they require.

Audience

Ideally organisations should seek to nominate staff aligned to service areas embarking on significant service reform which is anticipated to have substantial service delivery by non-statutory partners.  It is anticipated staff typically at a Head of Service or Senior Manager Level involved in leading these service planning activities.

Candidate's will be nominated by their peers and paid for through their organisations.

Method

The programme will be delivered over 9 workshops using a range of methods which would require just 9 days away from the workplace, building on the confidence to deal with levels of challenge and complexity in our system.
