Coaching

The HSC Leadership Centre provides a comprehensive coaching offering that supports individuals, teams, and organisations across the system to strengthen leadership capability, enhance performance, and build confidence.

Coaching is widely recognised as best practice for effective leadership and management and is endorsed by Investors in People. Our coaching approach encourages openness, reflection, and learning, creating conditions for positive personal and organisational change.

Our Coaching Offer

Our qualified coaching team delivers a range of coaching interventions designed to support leadership development at all levels. Coaching is offered as a voluntary and confidential process, providing a psychologically safe space for exploration, development, and growth.

We work with individuals and teams to:

  • Improve leadership effectiveness and workplace relationships
  • Enhance communication and conflict-management skills
  • Support leaders through transition, change, and increased responsibility
  • Enable teams to operate more effectively and make best use of their collective strengths

 

1:1 Coaching

Our 1:1 coaching supports leaders and staff across the system to reflect on practice, increase self-awareness, and develop practical strategies to address challenges and achieve goals.

Typical coaching interventions may involve:

  • Up to three coaching sessions
  • Delivered over a period of up to six months
  • Tailored to individual and organisational needs

This structured approach ensures coaching is focused, purposeful, and aligned with wider development priorities.

 

Team Coaching

Team coaching supports groups to work more effectively together, strengthening trust, communication, and shared accountability. Our team coaching interventions help teams to draw fully on their own resources and ensure they are equipped to deliver to their full potential.

This approach is particularly effective in developing managerial and leadership capability, supporting improved performance at both team and organisational levels.

 

Coaching for Managers

Our coaching offer also supports managers to develop essential managerial skills, building confidence in leadership, decision-making, and people management.

 

Accredited Coaching Programmes

The HSC Leadership Centre also offers EMCC-accredited coaching programmes at:

  • Foundation level
  • Practitioner level

These programmes support the development of high-quality coaching capability across the system. We are also currently working towards accreditation of our Coaching Supervision programme, reinforcing our commitment to professional standards and best practice.
