Maura McMackin

As a registered social worker of 19 years, Maura has diversified into Higher Education Teaching and Organisational Development roles throughout her career. Maura has managed educational and HSC teams before joining the HSC Leadership centre in 2021 and moving into a principal role in 2024. Maura’s passions lie in the design and delivery of leadership development programs, social work development, team facilitation, professional self-care and emotional intelligence for leaders. At present Maura leads on several regional development programs including Leading Social Work, Engage, Ignite for Service Managers, Practical Self-care and Demystifying Delegation. As a qualified Emotional Intelligence coach, Maura is keen to develop individuals and teams to reach their potential. Maura facilitates bespoke interventions to HSC services (e.g. Organisational development strategies, workforce planning), multidisciplinary teams (e.g. team-based working, succession planning, project planning, decision-making, action learning sets) and individual staff across HSCNI. Maura is keen to grow new leaders and inspire a collective leadership culture to benefit service users, staff and services.
